Green Revolution aftermath has seen lot of its criticism. Alternative, non-chemical agriculture and organic farming became umbrella terms that represented a variety of non-chemical and less-chemical oriented methods of farming.
Natural farming means farming with Nature and without chemicals. It is presumed that it encourages the natural symbiosis of soil microflora and crop plants. It is, thus, expected to have no or least side effects on the health of soil and environment. Zero Budget Natural Farming promises to end a reliance on loans and drastically cut production costs, ending the debt cycle for desperate farmers.
Although the work on ZBNF has been taken up by some states but no systematic data have been generated so far to prove the superiority of this technology over the scientifically proven crop management practices.
